Tarts cafe – Northbridge is a favorite spot to have brunch or lunch in Northbridge area. It has fabulous coffee and tea and also some beautiful desserts. They also serve high tea at the weekend. We came there pass the lunch time so we just ordered drinks and light menu like chips. But I definitely want to go back there to try their breakfast and lunch menu which are very mouthwatering.
Tarts Cafe is located at the end of Lake Street so parking is generally not an issue. There are a couple of smaller lanes to turn into that should have parking spots. I came by on Sunday and it’s still not difficult to find a parking. Even if you park a bit far from the cafe, you can also walk around and enjoy the neighborhood which is lovely.
You can check the menu here.

Taro – Taro Vic Park is one of nice place to hangout with your family or friends. They serve Taiwanese dessert. So it’s great choice if you just want something light for catch up and chit chat with your friends. Perth has many bubble tea places but Taro-Taro is one of my favorites beside Utopia. Here, they not just serve bubble tea, but also some ice cream and light snack and meal.
What I love is they allow us to choose the sweetness of drinks. So you can select your drink without sugar, or with 25% , 50% or 75% sugar. This is a great option for those who prefer less sweet drinks, have a health condition such as diabetes and need to watch their sugar intake, or just prefer to adjust their order to match their sweetness palate.
You can see their menu in Zomato before you pay a visit. But I recommend you to try it.

Pepper Lunch – Willetton is another branch from Pepper Lunch franchise in Western Australia. It’s quite new compare to other branch. This restaurant is my family favorite one. My family is a hot food lover that’s why they are crazy about this place. And the cooking experiences here is worth to try. It’s similar with Korean bbq but in mini version. So the food come in a hot plate. Raw meat like chicken, beef slices/beef steak and salmon come in a hot plate then you cook them very fast. Eat very careful as the they becoming very hot at the first.
Find their menu on Zomato if you want to see before you go for a visit. They had a lot of hot plate menu variation.

Cafe 2 Twenty Four – Belmont located in Belmont area. It’s found at the opposite of Belmont Forum. I went there with some of my beautiful ladies friends who likes to taste new cafe in town. We grabbed a table inside which is quite enough. I’ve been tempted with their mega shake. I’m bit afraid that it’s gonna be too sweet for me but surprisingly it’s not like what I thought. Everything about the food was so good, beautiful taste. They had gorgeous presentation and very fresh. We spent almost half day there, from dropping our kids at school until pick up time, lol. From coffee to lunch time.
I recommend you to pay a visit to Cafe 2 Twenty Four – Belmont.

Silver Sushi – Willetton becoming one of my favorite restaurant because they had beautiful Japanese food especially their salad is so special. Their salad is so fresh topping with special dressing. We guess the dressing is made from fruity ingredients, it might be mix of pineapple and melon.
We order their unagi sushi, avo salmon salad and veggies tempura, those foods are awesome. So fresh and beautiful. Unfortunatelly the place is too small but the staffs are friendly. Love love their foods and definitely want to come back there again.

This time we visit Nasi Lemak Korner – Como. It has Malaysian taste. I came here with my husband and my two boys, they are really fans of Asian food. The place is nice and quite cozy. We order nasi goreng and nasi lemak. Those foods that we ordered are really nice. And for the drinks we ordered raspberry mocktail and three layer tea. Love them both. They sometimes have special menu and also special dessert. Lately i’d like to try their durian strudel, but you have to call them first to make sure they have it on the day.

Ok, langsung aja yuk kita eksekusi resepnya. Dan makasih mba DD yang udah sharing-sharing resepnya yang enak-enak. Untuk resep yang satu ini udah pasti akan di ulang-ulang karena enak sih, semua bisa makan, termasuk anakku yang paling kecil.

This time I tried to make bread using water roux method. Been ages I read about this method but still feel that this method it’s a bit complicated so I skip again and again. But when my foodie blogger said that she loves this method a lot and she also said that it’s the best so it’s tickling my curiosity to try making bread using this method. And yeah, it’s good….really good…the texture are great, soft and fluffy. For my notes here for all bread recipe that I already tried so far, mixture between bread flour and plain flour in right amount is really important for making bread with great texture and softness.
Sweet Bread using Water Roux Method
Source : Hesti’s Kitchen
• 400g bread flour
• 200g plain flour
• 2 tbs milk powder (I used 3 tbs)
• 120g sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 10 gr instant dry yeast
• 1 egg + 1 egg yolk (I used 2 eggs)
• 150-200ml lukewarm water, adjust as necessary
• 75gr margarine (I used 75gr butter)
• 50g bread flour
• 250ml water
* Water-Roux is basically 1 part bread flour to 5 parts water.
Mix flour and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low to medium heat, stirring continuously until it reaches 65ºC. It should have thickened to a paste at this stage, that is when you stir you can see the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat, leave until lukewarm, or room temperature, before using. (Alternatively if you don’t have a thermometer, cook as before until it starts to thicken, then continue to cook for about 1 more minute before removing from heat)
- Put all ingredients into breadmaker because this time I used breadmaker with the order of liquid first the solid ingredient. So I put water – eggs – butter – sugar – salt – water roux paste – milk powder – flour mix – dry yeast.
- Setting to make dough then press start.
- When it’s finished, dough ready to be shaping into any shape you like. Divide dough into 9 balls. Put into a pan.
- Let it rise again for about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven 200’C.
- Grease bread using egg yolk+fresh milk. Then bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden.
- Take it from the oven and grease again using margarine to make the top shiny.
- Ready to eat.
