Ssam – Vic Park

My family is a fan of Korean Cuisine especially their bbq. From some of Korean restaurant that we already tried, SSAM is the generous one. So yeah, SSAM Korean Bbq Restaurant definitely our favourite.

We ordered Chicken Set ($46) from SSAM bbq special set. The chicken come in two types, one marinated and the other one plain. They both are nice. The set come with assorted vegetables, 4 kind of side dishes, homemade sauce and hot stone steamed egg. We can ask refill for the vegetables, side dishes and sauce.

The other menu that is recommended are premium beef set, kimchi and seafood pancake, fried chicken, stir fried sizzling fried rice and the hot pot stews.

Overall i love every meal that we already tried. Next i might want to try the bibimbap meal and noodles soup.

Cioccolato – Ardross

Cioccolato – Ardross is one of beautiful cafe in southern suburb. Near the area around November time there would be some beautiful Jacaranda tree blossoming and you will amaze to see how pretty it would be. I could take hours only taking pictures of them.

I think the first time i came here was with my two lovely friends in my pictures below. They literally lovely, inside out (but don’t tell them that i told you guys about it, it will flattering them :p)

I ordered soup of the day which serve with sourdough bread while my friends orders salad and house made bircher muesli. And of course we all ordered coffee to accompany our brunch.

The foods and beverages serve beautifully and taste nice. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The most loving for me was the tea rooms which offer you a beautiful vintage decor that i can adore for as long as i stay there, lol.  Absolutely recommended place to visit if you go to Perth – Western Australia. But it’s hard to find parking around this area especially on peak hours.

We orders Shakshouka, eggs in a slow cooked tomato sauce, peppers, smoked labne  $21.5. Shakshouka is a dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, chili peppers, and onions, commonly spiced with cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and nutmeg. It’s originally from Tunisia even though it’s commonly see in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean regions.

I loved to try some exotic food from different countries. And i love shakshouka, you can eat it with couscous. The taste will come along so beautifully.

Chinta Cafe – Scarborough

I’ve been here twice and every time is with that beautiful lady in my photos. Geez….i’m gonna miss her a lot coz she moved to Jakarta now. I hope we still can do our cross country every time she come to visit her boys here.

Anyway, the first impression when i heard about this cafe is like Indonesian word cinta but it has ‘h’ on it so probably not, but when i read the menu, it has nasi goreng and gado-gado, make me think the owner must be Indonesian or the person had strong feeling with Indonesia.

The first time we triad lunch menu, the second time we came earlier and just having coffee with sweets.

I ordered chicken fajita and she ordered beef brisket bao bun. They had different menu for each seasons. Second time, i ordered raspberry tarts and she ordered honey cake. The coffee was good, no complaint for that.

Warung Made – Bali International Airport

On the way to Perth, we had early breakfast at Warung Made in the airport. Why I chose this restaurant because i still want to taste Indonesian food til the last minute. Because while i’m in my hometown i prefer to have some Indonesian food rather than other. Lucky my husband and kiddos never show any objection with my preferences. Back to Oz then we can start to enjoy many western food because local food is always better in its home region.

I ordered rujak kuah pindang ( IDR 33.701) while kiddos had honey pancakes ( IDR 29.489). Because it’s still early for drink we all had hot drink. I chose honey lemon ( IDR 32.016), my husband got wedang jahe ( IDR 32.016) while kiddos had hot tea ( IDR 32.016).

The Sparrow Nest Cafe

Hello….been so long since the last post. When i open it, there’s long queue of articles in the post sections including this one that i thought i already write (maybe in my dream, lol)

So it’s better for me to start writing again before this blog bailed on me. For me it’s so hard to get focus on something but hell yeah i get to start anyway and learn to be focus and not getting distraction every time.

The sparrow nest cafe is the one that we talking about in this article.

This little cafe or some people says micro restaurant located on Victoria Park cafe strip near my boy school. And also one of my favourite hangout place because the decoration is so vintage and make cool photo tone if you like photography like me.

This place is always crowded in the morning and lunch time.

Also they have special coffee menu that has quite interesting taste, which make me to recommend you to come visit and try them. For example their crema brulee and sweet sparrow coffee. For the meal they have some breakfast menu like egg benedict and some sweet choices from the display.

If you come around 3pm then you can only buy coffee/tea (beverage) and food from the display because their kitchen is already closed.

Hansik Korean Bbq – Willetton

Hansik Korean Bbq is located at Willetton Suburb.  The Menus are korean bbq, korean fried chicken, bibimbap, fried rice and hot plate. This time we decided to have beef ribs and wagyu steak bbq. It came with some condiments in small plate such as edamame, kimchi, beansprout and tomato pickle. Beef meat was well marinated, it tasted great and tender. The tasty meat come along really well with garlic fried rice that we also ordered that night. Others menu that we tried is Korean fried chicken. I think it’s become the mandatory menu when we visit this place again.

Things that are less than satisfactory to us is we have to pay for vegetables that come with Korean bbq while at other place its come for free in a big portion and also you can refill for the condiment while other place allowed you to refill when its empty.

But yeah, i still want to try their bibimbap and hot plate menu next time.

Doric St Cafe and Kitchen – Scarborough

Doric St Cafe and Kitchen is local cafe at Scarborough area. We visited this cafe a few weeks ago. They called it Doric St Cafe and Kitchen. My friend and I had brunch here. I ordered Acai Bowl and long mac with soy milk while my friend had poke bowl and long mac. Yup, Acai Bowl is the first menu that i’ll choose if the cafe has one. If they don’t than i’ll prefer to choose savoury menu. The place had nice ambience and the meal were beautifully presented.

The Acai Bowl was great. Topping it with granola, banana and strawberry slices made it great to start your day. The Poke Bowl was beautifully presented and taste great too but a little bit too much rocket leaves in it which leave peppery feeling after eating it. Their coffee was good.

We had a chance to meet the owner those day. She’s still young, lovely and also friendly. The staffs were friendly and helpful. They always smile which made us feel welcoming. And as a foodie and food photographer, i found this place is very interesting and had so much beautiful spot for photography. Definitely want to go back there again!

Architect and Heroes – Subiaco

Having said that this cafe has one of top ten coffee in Perth made us want to come and try their coffee. The place if a bit small and squishy but the staffs are friendly and helpful. I ordered mocha while my friend had her flat white. Yes, mocha turn our out as my expectation, is exceptionally good no wonder if it got into the top ten list. We didn’t get to try their food because we came after we got brunch at other place. And yes, if you live near by then you must visit this cafe, if not than put it on your list for your next coffee date.
